You're not understanding the scale of this at all. That bike's custom made for Yao. Those are 68" wheels.

The biggest annoyance for me is all the wheels in my garage. But now that you mention the mixing... that means you have to carry at least two different size tubes.

I've used a 26 tube when I flatted my 29er.

Heck at pedro's fest last year ,Quo_fan and I stuffed a 26X1.95 tube a 700X20 tire when I got a flat on a demo road bike . the guy at titus couldn't believe we managed to stuff that tube in there .

They do weigh less - but imo they are a PITA to install.

Do you inflate em first and stretch em out a bit before using them?
