This is very troubling to me. Sounds like something that would happen under Saddam, Hitler, or Castro. When he spoke in Indiana tickets were "carefully distributed through political organizations and church youth groups." Not sure what the point is of selling his Social Security plan to a bunch of supporters - seems like he should be speaking specifically to doubters.

Democracy is dead. Long live Capitalistdictatocracy. :dead: Seriously, Bush has been pulling this crap for ages. There's always a stink in Europe whenever he comes over and always will only speak in front of prescreened guests and guaranteed applause. Lame. Par for the course for your wannabe dictator.

I can sort of understand wanting to prevent large scale disruptions, but this sort of exclusion is rediculous, especially at U.S. events funded by tax-payer money for the purpose of educating people about his plan. Can someone explain to me what the administration is gaining by this sort of behavior?

The impression of unwavering support amongst the public. If that's all you ever see and you don't choose to dig deeper it's pretty effective.
