The rule holds very true here in Santa Barbara. If you are a guy and driving a Jetta I would question your sexuality.

I think it's a universal truth.
My daily driver is a TDI Beetle. That's right, a Beetle. You know why? Because it gets great mileage and the hot chick who owns it, lets me drive it to work every day.
True in the Seattle area also. Why do so many guys think Jettas are chick and gay guy cars? They are affordable, the diesels get really good MPG, in general just good cars, so why is that only for chicks and gay guys? If your strait do you have to know how to fix the piece of crap you drive? Just curious where this thinking comes from.

The older the Jetta, the older and less-hot the driver. Example: a chick driving a '94 Jetta was probably hot when the car was new, but at this point she's a little world-weary.
I think with a bit of work they are stelar 'mans' cars as well. Besides, what cyclist wouldnt want a TDI waggon?

have you noticed that VW is trying to revamp the Jetta with a different image? All of their commercials now are trying to break the previous "Jetta stereotype." Basically, I think this means they're trying to say that you don't have to be a well-groomed suburban wasp to drive one.
