HBD @eric strt6 !!

Any monkeys want to to start an engineering/manufacturing consulting outfit? Anyone got a PE? It “sounds” like we’ve got decades of engineering experience across a broad range of industries.

The engineer in Seattle will tackle the IRC wall bracing calcs. I am off the hook, Pretty sure I didn't have a chance to learn it correctly in time anyways.

I don't understand the psyche of engineers or the draw to the career field; it just seems like perpetual mental torture and anguish to me

I'm not sure how I feel about hearing AC/DC in the he grocery store. It was New Seasons, but still.

When I lived in Cincinnati I had a theory that remains to be refuted. At least one ACDC song is being played on an available terrestrial radio at any point in time.

The old lady in front of me thought Dirty Deeds was appropriate for Christmas, I agreed.

depends on whether we're talking about his Transit or about other anatomy with the term "meat wagon", isn't it
I wasn't questioning the specifics but the intent of his wishes. To me, someone shitting in anything of mine is more important than what of mine someone is shitting in.

My wife has an undergrad electrical/mechanical engineering degree from a very prestigious Ivy school. She worked as an engineer in Chicago for a few years before realizing that her future was essentially pretty limited by a few factors, with some sexism and industry culture being a large part.
She quit, dumped her boyfriend, packed up her little Subie, and moved to Jackson so that she could be the master of her own future (and just ski for a season).
It worked out incredibly well for her (minus marrying me, of course!!!).
She is analytically minded, and has a great sense of humor…she pretty much thought the engineers were killjoy dorks. (Not all, of course).

Today's excursion was hiking and snorkeling on Hog Island.

Hog Island sits inside a marine conservation area so the coral is in great shape and reef close to the surface.

Outside the bar shack (picnic table) near that bridge I had the Island all to myself.

Weather was blustery but saw some bigger (in size) schools of fish today, and watched a guy cleaning a 5 gallon bucket of conch -- conch fritters are still on my list. Yum!

Thanks Guys, 68 today and still kicking. We had to carry a large person out of a room in a house and down 14 steps to our gurney on a scoop backboard today (took 4 of us). I can't believe that EMS schools don't teach folks how to use one. My guys got a real in service training today.:sarcastic:

Going out to dinner to a seafood boil place in a few minutes

Crikey it's been a busy 48+ hours for me.
I was rostered onto the night shift on Tuesday night, got called in early when Vanuatu kicked off, and then had a concurrent M5.1 hit just south of Wellington.
Spent a 14 hour shift fixing the problems the day shift had caused (lack of ability & experience on that shift caused a few issues), and prepping a Rapid Response Team to fly out in the morning........ I fucking called it too! stupid buggers tried to sent one of the old aircraft (it is literally older than me), I said it wouldn't make it, and it didn't.
The C130-H had to divert to New Caledonia where it's sitting broken until they fly a team with parts out to it. So that team is out of action, 2nd team left today, this time they used one of the brand new C130-J's.
So another 13 hour over night shift for me last night, got home 0700hrs today.
Did a load of house work and dog walking today.
Pretty bloody shattered and about to head to bed as I've been up now for 30+ hours.
All the various work devices have now been set to flight mode, or off.
I'm done.
