Judging by the comments, this protest wasn’t successful for anything other than gathering criticism.
I didn’t even see anything about this protest until I searched for it.

I think changing the course will require a general strike. Unfortunately, we are not there yet, because not enough people feel the personal effects yet. Many people are nervous and perhaps scared, but there is not a critical mass of people that have been directly impacted.. Also, unfortunately, by time we "get there" it may be too late.
I think the next round of social security and other government disbursements (like VA disability comp, welfare, grants of all kinds, farm loans, etc.) have a good likelihood of being disrupted. Whether the cause is ineptitude or malice doesn't matter really. Either way it will finally get enough peoples' attention, because it will affect them personally and financially. That will finally activate people, but I am not sure it will fix the problem. More than likely it will just cause a run on the banks.
