by the letter of the law yes this woman broke the law but is the principal of her really that bad? also, if they are persecuting her for basically poaching an education how is that any different than any illegal alien (flame away) of any nationality (not just those dirty 'cans) whose child attends school while they reside illegally and pay no property taxes?

I understand the law. I assume she is paying property taxes somewhere, as well as the rest of her taxes. There are plenty of people who live in that district with no kids who pay taxes used for that school...Tough situation, and I actually gieve her credit for caring and making the effort; maybe expel the kid but I don't think jail time or fines are appropriate.
