when converting to a LSD, is it possible to use your 'regular' RSD hub and just flip it over and then tread on a LSD freewheel?

and compatibility, will 3/32 and a 1/8 parts (chain, freewheel/cassette and
chainring) work with each other?

depends on your hubs, a "flip flop" hub means you can flip it over and run smaller gears on the right side. Some hubs are designed so that you can run it LHD or RHD. you'd have to find out first.

I'm going to guess that you can't run a RHD hub in LHD configuration because you'd keep backing the gear or casset off the hub because you would have flipped/reversed the thread direction by changing the side of the wheel its on. I think you'll need to find hubs that are either RHD specific, or have threads cut on each side so that they can be run either way.

You can use whatever you normally would use for chains. You should just need a LSD compatible hub and LSD compatible cranks and of course, make sure that everything will fit on your frame (because some frames have dimples or relieve chainstays on the drive side).
