Hi forum.

Anybody in here own a gt id5 2006 mod?
When I got mine, the dropout was bent...nothing much, but slightly.
The local GT guys has awesome service, and sent me a new one straight away - no questions.

But now I bent one myself, on the trail. And the mark on the derailleur is really tiny...close to nothing. So just wondering, any other id5 owners that has bent theirs? Are they a bit on the soft side?

I've been riding DH for years, and almost never ruined any derailleurs or bent any dropouts (except for one huge crash on a vpfree) - and now I end up changing it twice on a id5 in 3weeks.

I love the bike though, it really is great fun to ride - and everything I'm looking for on a trailbike, but just wondering about the dropouts...though it's probably nothn.

Actually a lot of bikes with vertical drop outs have that problem. The hanger is normally made out of alluminum and will bend easily. Sometime's even the force of an impact on the derailer will bend the drop out itself. I personally don't own that frame but have had the same problem with other frames. Usually you can bend it back into place yourself. It may be a little weaker but it saves sending it away again.
