I DID search...

I have an 04 ASX with a 118x73/73E BB...

The guide spaces up right with none of the plastic spacer plates, BUT the instructions said it should take 1 plastic spacer plate.

ALSO, there is about 1cm clearance or less between the boomerang and a 2.0 larsen TT... this doesn't worry me now, but I plan to run 2.5 highrollers on this bike sometimes, and I reckon they'll hit.

So what's the dillio? Do I need some kinda BB spacer?

I can post pics of stuff if clarification is needed.

ISCGMSASASDFG tabs suck... I sheared them off my M1 one time. It was ok, though, because they were welded on there crooked to start with.

Yeah, it's mounted under the BB flange.

BB spacer. Between the boomerang and the frame.

Your LBS should have one.

I did it on my Imperial - no problems at all.

Yeah I think this is one of the reasons the newer FR bikes have wider hubs and BB - to get a decent chainline and still be able to run multiple rings without clearance issues...

This is another way to do it, or the washers like I mentioned above so it doesn't mess with your BB spacing/centering.

If you need to move it over a few MM to clear the tire, you can flip over the ICGS adaptor like we do on some DH bikes with pivots that interfere with the backplate. But this usually requires a different length BB to move the cranks out further.

Another thought, How's your wheel dished?

You sayin' I can't build a wheel? Punk? Wanna fight?

Nah, it's dished f'in perfect...

also, the boomerang doesn't have an adapter... there are 3 ICBMQ holes and a hole just big enough to fit under the BB flange.

My as-x doesn't have a lot of clearance to begin with, with a 2.35 tire there's less than .5" between the chain and tire in the granny gear. I've yet to jump on the band wagon and buy a chainguide just yet, in 10 years of mountain biking I've only dropped a chain a hand full of times. If I actually pedaled I might have more of a problem though :(

I think what you need is the little Alum. ICGS adaptor (triangle shaped thing in the center)

They come with the SRS, STS guides but most DRS setups don't require it and is a usually special order item. If you or any friends don't have one laying around, call up Jonas or Michael and see what they can do for you. This should space you out enough to get you some more room.

negative, I've only got 10 fingers divided evenly on two hands. Really though, if you don't pedal through rough stuff the chain seems to stay put pretty well.

Hm, I always thought that the tension from pedalling would keep your chain on...otherwise it just jangles around loosely...

Whoa......I know how to fix your chain guide. You don't. :stosh:
alright... listen to me carefully:

If I were to space the boomerang out anymore WITHOUT also spacing the spindle out, the boomerang would contact the chainring bolts for the little ring.

One of those adapters would have exactly that effect and it would NOT solve my problem.

I need to space out the spindle AND the boomerang, and this is easily accomplished with a BB spacer. I have one in my toolbox. I will fix it tonight. My problem is solved, but YOU didn't solve it.

Now go back to your dolls.

Sounds like you solved your problem in your first post.

Yeah guys, sounds about right. I was just throwing out ideas without being able to see the bike. Not saying you did anything wrong, just the most common problems i've seen in the pits. As long as the cranks don't become too offcenter, your golden.
