Toro Canyon Middle School teacher Tonya Neff was taken to the Indio jail Tuesday afternoon and booked for investigation of felony child endangerment.

Administrators at Thermal's Toro Canyon Middle School told the Riverside County Sheriff's Department that the 47-year-old teacher was apparently intoxicated on campus.

Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Tapp says Neff had taken prescription drugs and alcohol and an alcoholic beverage was found inside a container.

Kenyon, 46, was given an interim driving ban at Bingley Magistrates' Court after admitting drink-driving while giving a lesson.

She was found to have 131 microgrammes (mcg) of alcohol in 100 ml of breath – almost four times the limit of 35mcg. Police later found two bottles of brandy – one empty and one three-quarters full – in her jacket.

I'm surprised that we don't see more of this type of story. When I was in high school there were a few teachers we suspected of having a nip o' the ol sauce every now and then.

We had one you could watch race out of the parking lot at 2:30 and go straight to the Vets club before coaching track.

I had a Ag teacher in high school that I'm pretty sure was drunk every morning.
