We're kicking off the 2024 Secret Santa! Exchange gifts with other monkeys - from beer and snacks, to bike gear, to custom machined holiday decorations and tools by our more talented members, there's something for everyone.
On October 14, I will give you Albany's first alleycat, a bike race playing in traffic on a lovely autumn Saturday night, ending at a comfortable neighborhood bar that serves up decent brews and cheap za.
There will be art! Scenery! Maps! Carrying stuff! Nervous state troopers! Basic math! And some of the finest tarmac in the city of Albany. Ride any bike or trike you like; as long as it's got wheels and pedals and is you-powered, it's all good. Don't think you need to be Lance Armstrong's second testicle, this'll be just as much of a good-spirited ride as it will be a race.
Entry fee gets you a neato spoke card and a shot at being the baddest ass in the Capital Region (along with the purse).
Pre-registration via email and Paypal/personal meetup welcome and encouraged.
no its an alley cat. and i thought the point of alley cats was to run them in daytime traffic so its more like actually messengering? every alley cat i've ever done was in the day. earliest i did was 10 AM (Iron City Ice Pick) and the latest started at like 430 PM.
