That way there's more room for us singles to bring rent down a bit!

Like that ever happens. Same thing happening in Tahoe. Wannabe rich people living above their means driving up the prices. While the rest of us living on what we really make get driven out of town. That is the reason I left the SF bay to begin with. Now the rest of the bay is clueing in but just move somewhere else and drive the prices up there too. Now even Reno is going thru the roof because all the high tech firms from silicon valley are moving there. What gets me is that some people will pay what-ever because they have more money than sense. I just looked at a place in Ione CA in the Sierra foothills... 2200 sq ft with a 5000 sq ft aircraft hanger attached to it, and to top it off a private taxiway right to my front door. A fly-in sub division for only 500k. I could not even get a sh!t hole in Tahoe for that.
