On my JrT the stanchions stick out above the upper crown a bit. Wheras on some other JrT's the stanchions are flush with the upper crown. It never really bothered me before, but it is now. Is there a difference?
I may be wrong but dosnt it have to do with how high or low you want your Front end to be? By Making more of the Stanchions stick up above the crown, its makes the lower and vice versa
Don't worry about it. The biggest variable determining how much stanchion sticks out is how long/tall your head tube is. Generally, you want it to stick out less rather than more, but it doesn't have to be flush by any means.
If it really kills you, put some spacers in between your headset and upper crown.
You only get a very limited adjustment range by lowering/raising the LOWER crown, which is what Yeti up there is talking about, because you can't just put the lower crown anywhere - there's a line above which you shouldn't go. If you must screw with it, space up the upper crown as I described above.
