At our 03 Nationals, Tracey took a huge stack, about 2m plus straight onto her face, Pretty much exactly the same thing i did , but i had to sit down for about 5 min before i could get up..... She hardly ever wheres those knee/shins either... This is a photo i got at the beginning of this year in Cairns, it's only with a crappy 2 megapixle Digi.

I got to talk to her for a bit tonight, I didn't know it but I guess she crashed in her race run. She apparently crashed and her bike stayed halfway up the Chicane, she didn't. So she had to run back up and get her bike then head down again. She still came in 2nd!!! That is truely amazing!

I feel like a 1/4 of a man right now. After seeing pics of Tracey Hannah doing stuff like that, hell, i may as well hand in my pen1s and quit the man club.

Someone asked if any other pros were hitting like Wentz and I would say no. Minnar and Rennie (who got 1st and 2nd) went the next biggest but wentz had them by about two bike lengths. Wentz was also the only one to really get some lift, not just ride off it.

I looked at the big line and it was a total commitment, you had to rail the turn before the drop and get a pedal stroke or two in to make it. I dropped it doing about 10mph to the "safe" landing. It either 10 or 30, if you came up short on Wentz's line there were a lot of roots and rocks that would buck you.

Super fun course! If NORBA would ever get there act together it would of looked great on TV.

Enough about Alex beating me by 10 seconds. :nope: "I had a flat tire, my car wouldn't start, it wasn't my fault!" I had a solid but conservative run, hats off to Alex for crushing me. He is pretty fast for a guy from Texas. :D

It was only 10 seconds Gene ;) A little reminder will only help you for next years training :)

.......ok, no I would'nt.

Got any photos that show how absurdly steep and loose the chicane section was?

Sorry True, None of the Chicane section. I tried to limit my shooting in the areas that I shot last year.

Hey! It was great to finally meet you. :thumb:

i watch the lst 10 riders come down that in the final.
that pole was bent flat and some of them where crossing
the logs that were on the base of the pole and D/Bling down
OVER THE POLE AND FENCE! insane stuff. that schwinn rider
got swaped on take off and was all whached out while steping down that.
with the plole gone some thought you could make it more strait.

that IMO was the hardest part to hit race pace. i was 50/50 in there.
THE EXPERTS road it too.

two years ago pics.when it still hade dirt on it.

josh prater sticking the high line. it was taped and so rutted it was unridable this year

Umm, yeah... I WISH it would have looked like that this year.

Was anyone jumping the course tape or going straight in that last Aspen section. Ya know switching from the hard line to the go-around (or whatever you want to call the two different lines)?

YEAH!! YEAHHH!!!

No sorry didn't get him. I was thinking that I should snap a shot but never got around to it. That guy needs to bring all his friends! If the whole course was covered with people as motivated to yell as him...who knows what would happen!

NS, BTW I am still getting through the pix, I didn't forget about you.

Between a rock and a hard place.
Wow, what a difference a year (and a couple inches of rain) makes.
IMO that was the toughest section of the course, followed by the loose off camber turn prior to the rocks just up the hill from the finish.

I flailed badly in the chicane all weekend and crashed into Joe Joegers bike on my race run. (My fault, it was out of the race line but I target fixated on it and went down.)

But hey, I got through my first Expert race ever and what is IMO one of the toughest courses around. Not hard to ride, but hard to ride fast.

The first, I had it in practice but couldn't hold a high line in the race. It was just too blown and I came in too hot.

Oh man that hurt! I was looking around all sunday for video of it but I heard from enough people that it was gnarly and there wasnt much as far as media around. Im still trying to fully figure out what exactly happened. I hit it pretty well every time I tried it in practice, I usually tended to go front end heavy off the drop and land almost nose first but that time I think the hole on the take off was considerable bigger than it was on my last practice and my rear wheel got hung up in it causing me to go way too forward and eventually over the bars. Thats a rad shot though, Im glad I finally saw something from it.

Ground Control to Major Tom, we’ve got 12+ feet of vert for your hucking pleasure. Please extinguish all smoking materials, fasten your seatbelts, and prepare the cabin for departure. Neal Giska makes more like Neal Armstrong off the 3rd drop, righteously dubbed "pink panties".

That guy rode down the hill with me in the truck. Looked like he broke his elbow pretty bad.

Seriously! We don't want any broken monkies here! Did you do anything serious?
One of these times I will have to meet you at the race rather than just take pictures of you! :)

Everything feels alot better now but some stuff is alittle akward still. My neck is still really tweaked and my hand kinda hurts to move. I dont think anything is really broken but Im going to get checked out tommorrow to stay safe. I wish I knew you were arround I would have stopped to say hey.

Glad your alright man and made it back ok, how was driving the truck with that hand? Damn it looked like someone went at it with a meat tenderizer. But now you can see in the photos, I think you punched a rock!!! :nope: :nope:
