My son has gotten all these DVDs from Denmark that we cannot view and I want to convert them to mpeg. Any suggestions?

can your computer's drive even read the different region code?

I have changed the region on the drive but that did nothing. I have been able to rip to the hd but still in the DVD format.

Well you cannot be able to watch DVD file? You just install VLC player or check it. If still not then you should try to upgrade your VGA card.

use handbrake and convert it to an mp4 or something
