I did it when I had the karpiel and it worked great. Buy a large bottle of RIT dye at a local fabric store. Find an old pot that you dont use anymore. Put the liquid dye and just enough water so that the rollers are fully submersed in the pan. Cook them on the stove so that the water/dye is just under boiling, be sure to keep turning the rollers over and over every 15-30 seconds so they dont get burned. Do this for about 10min, and you get nice black rollers.
Hey Luc, I just found the Risse Black Eyes you gave me last year. Since they are plastic does anyone know if they are noisy, I do like how quite the stock MRP's are.
no problem. the longer you keep them in the deeper of a black you will get. Use a spoke bent into a hook to stirr and remove the rollers. If you really want to do it perfect; make 2 hoook shaped hangers out of spokes to hold the rollers just above the bottom of the pot, but still with the tops submersed. Find someway to hold the 2 hangers up over the pot, you can do it with your hands if ya want, or just tape the hangers to a 2x4 and put it across the top of the pot. Doing this will ensure you dont get any burn marks, and you wont have to stirr em if you do this
