The only difference in boomerang size is between the SRS and STS. All SRS guides have the same size boomerangs, but the STS boomerang won't fit a chainring bigger than 36 teeth.
You guys are right. For the MTX (32T - 40T), East Coast (32T - 42T), and 44 Special (32T - 44T) SRS guides, the boomerang and 'guts' are all the same; only the bashguard changes. For the STS (32T - 36T) guide, there's a smaller, more compact boomerang that tucks the lower roller a little more behind the bashguard for protection during disasters/stalls/grinds. Attached are a couple of pics that show the difference.
