Okay im confused i ve heard people say all kinds of things about putting a bashguard over your third chain ring can you or do u have to take the third one off and put the bashguard in its place. Also what size E-13 Supercharger Bashguard would fit a 42t iso x-flow chain rings

Using a bashguard, you give up the 3rd ring.

The size of the bashguard depends on the sizing of your cranks, if it has 4 or 5 arms. 4 arm is 104mm spacing, 5 arm can be 110mm or 94mm spacing

Yep, you lose the third ring and to cover the 32 ring you have in the middle, you need the 'Urban' model (covers up to 36T). If you're thinking of putting a chainguide on and use the 42T ring, get the 'East Coast' model.
