An e-clip which holds the handle clamp on my Yakima Backswing together failed for the second time and Yakima are ignoring my support requests.

.314 or 7.91mm groove diameter, so slightly bigger than 5/16"
.387 or 9.84 shaft diameter, so slightly bigger than 3/8"

This one seems like it might be too tight a fit?

Or if I use non-freedum units this one?

If you have a harbor freight near you they sell a pretty good kit of all the sizes a guy would ever need for cheap.

Problem is not knowing if I need the imperial 3/8's - of which there's 50 in that kit, or a metric 8mm which isn't in that kit.

Based on my measuring I think it needs to be the metric...

I think I'll give the 9mm shaft diameter bag of 100 from Fastenal a try, there's one right near @Nick :D

A bag of ten is all I need to keep me happy, but Grainger in Denver is a further drive for just the ten.

If it already failed twice I would just replace the pin and clip with a nut and bolt. If there is sufficient clearance.

Or just jam a stick in there.

Shitty design, tight clearance for a nut and bolt and I'd need nylon washers or something appropriate against the handle with a nylock nut as it's a moving pivot point.

I've been using a bent paperclip for the last 5+ months, should probably just put a spare paperclip in the truck instead.

That sounds like a dare!
Nah, that's just the trail that flows from my house in that direction, 3 1/2 miles to drop the 1800ft down to the paved bike path. That will likely be how I'll pickup the parts if I choose that fix.
