E13 bash guard affected by certain lubes?

Ive just ordered an SRS for my M1 as was tired of the drag from my Mr Dirt. Ive been informed that the bash guard can become brittle if certain lubes are used? The waxy dry types (white lightening?). Which is just the type of lube I was going to use as its getting miserable here in the UK.

Does this sound right or is it a biking myth?

I'd be suprised if lube (especially a simple chain lube) would cause a problem, but the best thing to do is email E.13 tech support, they'll know for sure and can suggest alternatives if it turns out that the lube you want to use will cause a problem.

As it turns out, we have found that there are a few lubricants that interact and compromise our polycarbonites. It seems that mineral spirit based lubes tend to chemically brinel our material. Though they are both great lubes, ProLink ProGold and Boeshield T-9 attack the polycarbonite in a way that changes the characteristics of the material. The wearplates and bashguard become more brittle and less flexible, thus cracking prematurely.
All other known lubes on the market have been fine.
