E13 cups/bearings and Single crown forks...Clearance issues??

Sorry for the X-post but I kinda need an answer soon.

Wondering if any of you have an answer.

I just ordered a Yeti AS-X frame. I also ordered E13 cups w/ FSA bearings to be installed on this frame. I plan on running an '05 Z1 FR I fork.

I realize that the E13 cups and bearings will give a lower stack height. This will mean the crown will be closer to the headtube as well as the downtube.

I'm wondering if there will be a clearance issue with using a single crown fork, such as the Z1 I just got? I know that w/ a dual crown fork there isn't a problem since you've got some type of bumper for the stanchion anyway, but perhaps with a single crown fork you may have the adjustment knobs or crown gouging the downtube in a crash or really tight turn.

Does anyone know of issues related to using the E13 cups, and especially in conjunction with an AS-X frame?

I've sent an email to E13. Hopefully they've had someone who's tried this combo before.

Ya might want to PM Mark (stoney98), he's pretty connected with Yeti, has a AS-X and might know, I haven't seen that combo installed yet.

It will be really close.

Even with the extra height of the tall 1.5 reducers (the old yeti ones) and a king, it feels twitchy at any decent rate of speed.
As far as geometry, Yeti had this to say about the AS-X:

When you change from 7-6 it slackens the head angle by one degree and drops the b.b by 1/2 inch The colors for 05' ano. black, raw, and work(carhart brown) the only changes/tweaks is the bike will be available with a through axel rear end in spring of 05;.

So you're saying even at 67º it is twitchy at speed?

Oh, ok. Remember, though I'll be running the NEW Z1, 150mm, 538mm axle-to-crown.

No doubt. You will not have to worry about any steepness with that fork.
Not only is it 6 inches, but it is tall as well.
I think I am gonna get the AM SL for my 5-Spot, but that new Z1 in a 130 version would be sick as well.

Update:

Since I still hadn't gotten an answer I decided to take the Gemini that I'm selling and use that to get an idea if there would be a problem.

As you can see in the picture below, it looks that there will definitely be clearance issue using E13 cups, and EVEN looks like there'd be issues with using a regular headset!

Looks like the problem on this one is definitely the cable mounts. I know the position isn't exact but still, with that much clearance you can tell it'd be a problem. I know that the Yeti has the mounts place a little more to the side but still, looks like it may be too close for comfort. :nopity:

Oh, btw, for those thinking of ever getting this combo (Gemini Team Replica and new Z1) it would definitely LOOK Sweet!
