hey
has anybody had any chainline or tyre size issues with a e13 sts guide? i have just fitted one to my 2mxtb. the back plate seems cut down on the size of tyre you can fit. i am running hookworms (2.5) which only leaves about 2-3mm of clearance. as hookworms are slicks i don't think i could fit a 2.5 knobbly in. the only solution is to move the guide out, which pushes the chain line out also.
has anyone else had this problem? or have i fitted it incorrectly/
thanks

Tire size is one limitation of a bike with a 135 mm rear end and a reasonable BB spindle length / chainline. Part of the reason DH bikes have gone to wider spacings.

Rockland is pretty right on. It's kind of the nature of the beast. With a 135 rear end you really can't go further out than a 118 BB spindle w/o screwing up your chainline. You should be able to fit a 2.5 knobby (depending upon the manufacturer). There's not really much that can be done in this situation, except maybe dish the wheel a couple mm's to the non-drive side to help with the clearance - this shouldn't really mess with the tracking of the rear end.

im running a truvativ boxguide on my pitbull and the boomerang is very similar to the e-13. i have 2.45 hutchinsons on there now and if my wheel gets knocked even a little out of true the knobs will rub the bolt that holds my lower roller on. without spacing it out from the bike more and screwing up the chainline i cannot see any way to make it better. nature of the beast i guess (as previously stated).
