There has been a lot of talk about how it might not be the best idea to give $500 million more to a group that does everything possible to keep us from enjoying our own East Bay parks and open space (i.e. PUBLIC LAND), but no one has been willing to focus the vague rumblings of discontent.

Until now.

The DNS may take a day or so to propagate.)

Facts? Printable flyers? Step by step instructions for making a difference? You got it.

We already know from their decade of delaying, obfuscating, and "checklists" that the EBRPD encourages and subsidizes horses, but has no intention of allowing bicycle access. They don't care, because they get paid either way.

We have a once-in-20-years opportunity to change that. They want the Measure AA extension to pass SO BADLY. These bond measures take a 2/3 majority to pass, and the latest poll shows it passing by maybe 2%. About 30% of people in the Western US ride mountain bikes. Think we can make a difference? I think so. Because if we don't, it's another 20 years of exclusion for us.

We've been acting like victims for too long. ("Maybe if we're nicer they'll stop hitting us.") Most of us have just given up. Let's take control of our destiny.

The first public meetings are THIS WEEK. Wednesday in Richmond, Saturday in Oakland. Help us spread this thing around. It's go time.
