Here's the deal, I've got a Hayes F brk to be mounted on a Planet X rigid fork (QR). I've got a couple of 8" Hayes rotors, but need to know which adapter will work.

I think the Hayes Psylo/Jr T adpter is the one I need right?

I tried using an adapter for a Marz. 20mm fork, and it's too wide (about 5 mm hits the rotor).

That's the main diff. b/t the two aforementioned adapters right, width?

Any chance an Avid 203mm adapter would work? (it's cheaper)

Thanks guys!

I'm using an Avid adapter on the rear of my Yeti (required for fit) with a Hayes, so I think the Front should work as well. I'll probably go ahead and get the Avid as it's cheaper.

or you can get an X-Vert 6-8" post mount adaptor. This adaptor bolts onto any Hayes 6" adaptor (front or rear) allowing for an 8" rotor.
I was going to try that, but after I saw the Avid adapter decided that I will just buy that.
The Avid and Hayes adapters are built the same. Both are designed to take the place of the Manitou style posts.
As of a couple of years ago, Hayes was saying that the 8" adapters are thinker to keep things from flexing under braking. The used to recomend putting 8" rotors on QR forks, but apparently that has changed.
