i'm going to be selling some stuff with hopes of putting the money back into TX4000 (actually, i want to anonymously donate to the rider that's having problems coming up with the $4000 fundraising goal this year). playing the sympathy card, i would like to mention that the money will be going back to charity. am i going to run into issues with that? or will i be clear since i'm not "associated" with the group this year? i don't expect to pull in loads of cash...$100 or so.

People do it all the time. You can say anything you want in the ad, as long as you donate at least a portion of the funds, then your covered. If you donate all the funds, then your golden.

in fact, there's a "donate to charity" checkbox in the listing creation page... i'm not sure whether it allows you to donate proceeds to any old arbitrary charity, but it shows that the practice is legit.
