Wait a second, are you attempting to tell me that allowing americans to sit on their asses and collect my tax dollars is a better solution than
making them take jobs that illegal immigrants are taking instead? I realize that unemployment has its place, I wasnt saying it doesnt, but there's just no reason for people to be living off it when there is work to be done. Id like to see some kind of unemployment office add-on that would headhunt for **** jobs. If you refused to take one, you wouldnt get paid. Even if the **** job wasnt enough to cover your daily costs, welfare could subsidize, not totally support.
Perhaps they are not being offered those jobs because the illegal immigrants are cheaper?

So who should you blame?

Welfare does subsidize, sometimes.

When I said welfare is sometimes the most expedient, here's an example:
Compare the costs of supporting a mother and 3 children, to supporting 3 children in the foster care system. I would also be curious to see what the crime rates and employment rates are for children from welfare households vs. the foster care system, but I'm not sure what they would be.

It's not that I think this is a great solution. It's that cutting people off is not as simple or cheap as folks would like to think.

Im not advocating just cutting people off, Im saying that there is work out there being done by illegals and yet Im still paying for Americans to sit on their asses. Before we go taking care of some illegals, we ought to make sure that anyone who wants to work can (of course, I belive this is already the case but if you had a huge number of jobs available and these tards werent taking them, then you'd have cause to cut them off)

Among the "working" illegals, I would still bet crime rates are low... but haven't found anything to support that.
intuitively, i do believe the same.
the deterrent for them is too strong. any problem with the law (no matter how little) and poof! they are gone!.

given the economics, i bet a very important % of minimal wage foreign workers (specially in the cities) are ilegal (besides the ones married to americans).
since either is very expensive to get a temporary work permit/green card, or you need above average skills/expertise in a field to get one. if they had been able to go thru the legal requirements, then they wouldn´t be working minimal wage jobs.

about the taxes, anecdotally speaking. most hispanic illegals i´ve met work with conterfeit social security numbers, and like someone said before, go thru all the regular tax stuff, but dont apply/get rebates.

60% of the hispanics arrested for DUI in NC were here illegally
Problem with stats is how they're skewed.

For example, maybe the DUI check points were set up in neighborhood known for a higher level of illegals. If that's true, then certainly they'll find drunken illegals.

Set up a check point in a wealthy hispanic neighborhood and I bet the illegals DUI'ing is <5%.

I guess you already had a preconceived notion of what you were looking for when you asked.....

what I asked for was info that's somewhat reliable, semi-unbiased. While I respect you, you only offered third hand info without any sources or details.
