I'm not sure on the proto, but I am from Sheffield, UK where edge are based. I know a friend of the guy who runs it so I'll try and find out next time I see him. There not out of business BTW, I won't go into it as it's too complicated for me to even understand let alone write down !

Nice bikes tho'

looks very ironhorse dw-esque. they even refer to it using "virtual pivot point" terminology. i wonder how they avoid infringing on patents.

they claim that the bikes have a virtual pivot point that is centered arouind the bb center, so basically they are attempting to build a concentric pivot linkage bike.

Personally I dont know if it really does that, but if thats their goal, so be it. As long as they arent trying to build dw-link bikes thats cool with me. Will have to look into it.

Never heard of an edge bikes gearbox bike... Where did you hear that? I dont see any mention anywhere.

You said "hell":D

Good, I would hate to see your work get all buggered up. :thumb: I guess the horst link is not patented worldwide?

I am glad youare able to put all of our hearts at ease...."there can be only one" DW bike.

We will see Rhino. "Wherever you disclose a good idea, there are 4 people ready to rip it off". Thats what one of my old professors said. OK this is off subject though.

I don't see no gearbox on that site. Did I miss it?

When applying for a patent you need so much money to cover different countries. I heard China is the most expensive. I'm in the proscess of trying to patient a bike part and I'm having a hard time coming up with enough money to pay for lawyer fees, search, application, etc.

It's glad to see a dedicated rider invent a link design. WOW! The image of Iron Horse will now change forever. Thanks!

that edge downhill bike has been around for 3/4 years now and was developed with the help of some of the uk`s top riders so please dont think theyre trying to rip anyone off, they are a very small rider owned company trying to produce a good product, they are definetly not the kind of guys to just copy someone elses design.

with regards to the gearbox i haven`t heard anything myself but it wouldnt surprise me.
