The graph is also a bit statistically weird; it is deaths per 10 million, but we only have 5 million people in Aotearoa, so that is actually double our deaths. I can’t actually remember the last time someone got killed by the police.
People who get shot by the cops here have to be doing something insanely bad, I would say normally they are people who have completely lost it for whatever reason and are beyond sanity. Even that cunt who killed 50 people in Chch got taken down without lethal force, in fact far from it.

Last person I can think of (I know there has one or more since But I can't recall the specifics) was the courier driver shot by accident during an armed standoff on the Auckland motorway about 5-6 years ago.
I do wonder for those stats if they are including deaths by people crashing a vehicle while being pursued?
I know in NZ those deaths are often attibuted as being the fault of the police?
