HUGE props to Hayes for adressing many of the wants that I know riders have with brakes. Personally, I am really psyched on this product.

Seriously, they don't seem to have done anything that Hope or Avid hasn't, not sure what the big deal is. Refinement of the standard hayes is nice, but the "features" of the el-camino don't seem to be overwhelming compared to a hope Mini-mono or avid juicy 7...

I suppose. I use the run-of-the-mill-bland-like-a-ford-sable hayes brakes on both of my bikes.

I need money for hopes.

As a Hope Mono user (2 minis, 1-4, and 1-6), I look forward to upgrading to Hayes El Camino.

I would take Avid Juicy's, Hayes HFX Plus, Magura Gustav, or Magura Louise FR brakes before the mono series if I had to buy again - my monos look good but are weak...

Don't believe the Hope hype :p

Nice pics, good to see proof that you don't actually ride your bikes. They have no dirt, anywhere, not even a spot of grease? Must be expensive wall art. :(

Mono caliper body, rotating banjo fitting. I know I heard about another company doing that last year, just can't remember who though.

Oh yeah and cut up rotors...................Hmmmmmmmmmm its on the tip of my tounge just can't remember. Damn it!!!!!!!!
do i detect someone getting defensive? I'm gonna look at every part of your bike, and make sure everything those brands did were the first.....like say for example, post mount adaptors....

...oh, and maybe Hayes just waited one more year to get it right instead... :D

Ahh yeah! Hayes delivers the goods!
They look refined, functional and pretty burly.
It sounds like they took people's criticisms and did something about it.
I bet the price is sub-Hope price.

Hayes has a reputation for reliability. If they don't dissappoint they will sell a truckload of 'em. :thumb:

Yeah, the 'zocchi looking Hayes logo is a little funny, but 'zocchi took the look from Metallica's logo :sneaky:

Marzocchi/Metallica-esque logo = Cheesy

Sweet ass new brake design that won't either smash my fingers or give me arm pump :thumb:

Methinks these are like the Juicy's (which I kinda wanted until I learned they have a couple minor design shortcomings) except more thoroughly thought out. I really like the "hidden" reservoir, very sneaky! I fear some of you might underestimate the sneakiness ;)
