It was discovered who Powell's secret witness was as the affidavit was copy and pasted from a pro-Trump podcaster who is a known fraudster and charity grifter. A person whose testimony is about bad credible as a schizophrenic on a meth binge.

One would presume this is the best of the 290 after davids Brian and his people are talking about.
Was that the guy that was originally touted as "with Military Intelligence" and then the Military Intelligence people said he never finished training and never worked with MI?

In a recent civil fraud case, attorneys for the state of North Dakota said that Maras-Lindeman falsely claimed to be a medical doctor and to have both a PhD and an MBA. They said she used multiple aliases and social security numbers and created exaggerated online résumés as part of what they called “a persistent effort . . . to deceive others.”
Maras-Lindeman, 42, served in the Navy for less than a year more than two decades ago
I don't know how one serves in the military for less than a year without either a medical or dishonorable discharge. I will take bets from anyone who thinks it was medical.

There are other discharges, they usually don't stamp you with a dishonorable just because you couldn't cut it and washed out of training. That might fall under a "general" discharge. Depends on the circumstances.

That was Spyder. Wheeled vehicle maintenance dude, not that there's anything wrong with that but just not remotely military intelligence.

Every one of those Rs who signed onto that lawsuit are disqualified from serving. If I was in charge, I'd never allow them to be recognized in Congress.

BTW, our country, which I believe is still Not The Worst® in the world, has a system of govt. to ensure that I am never, in fact, in charge.
Some have already filed complaints, but every single lawyer that goes to court with one of these should be disbarred.

Is Louie Gohmert the dumbest member of congress? Discuss.

He is a former attorney and judge, he knows the law. He isn't the dumb one, but there sure are a lot of morons who voted for him. This is little more than political grandstanding to "energize his base".

I dunno man. Rudy and the Kraken lady are attorneys too. My main take away from all these people post election, is that it's not nearly as difficult to become an attorney as I might have previously believed, because these mother fuckers are DUMB.

Yeah, I am sure all of their actions are the result of stupidity for which they have no chance of personally benefitting from.

stupidity: a thread

I get your point that it's not stupidity, it's opportunism masquerading as such, however you have to be kind of a moron to not have a better strategy. Plus you can lose your damn place on the bar.

It's kind of like getting a mechanical or civil engineering degree, getting your PE, and then waving your hands at the side of a hill and saying you're going excavate it with prayer, genuinely believing it's going to work.

........which is incidentally precisely what a bunch of southern judges do once in their profession.

you can be just smart enough to get through the system at a young age and then go downhill from there, for sure, due to corruption, malice, or any number of other factors.

hell, i'll be the first to admit i was smarter/harder working/etc. when younger.

I also grew up with some interactions with southern judges that honestly were some of the dumbest motherfuckers I've ever met in my life.
This is a strange group of plaintiffs - looks like the dumbest man in Congress, the second-most disgraceful Republican Party State Chair in America, and a bunch of semi-randos. All of the above almost certainly lack standing to bring this case.
SEE!!!!!

Well they don't have a coherent argument so they have to come up with something. One thing that last 4 years has shown us is the less coherent and the more rabid the argument, the more Trump and his fans will love you.

Maybe Sydney Powell is crazy enough to believe a dead South American dictator conspired with a voting machine company. Maybe she isn't smart enough to spell check her court filings. Maybe she doesn't give a shit because her motivation was never to actually win a court case but win favor of Trump and his supporters. Maybe she is dumb and crazy, but she will probably get a good paying job at the Trump News Network or perhaps become mayor of Colorado Springs.

do they though?

literally defying the constitoooooshun they swore to uphold and never stfu about

For a group that constantly whines about not disciplining kids, and participation trophies, you're right. None of them realize a paying gig on conservative news after displaying complete incompetence in their profession IS the biggest participation trophy ever.

Probably not Mayor, people on the west side would never have that, but she could definitely clinch Doug Lamborn's 5th district House seat if he ever gives it up.

A good chunk of republican politics now operates more like professional wrestling than a political party concerned with governance.

Why is it the only thing that is in dispute is the presidential line?
How come nobody seems to be making any noise about this, or if they are it's awful quiet?
If there was a huge conspiracy to steal the election, is it not a bit odd that they would forget to add to the hold on the house and also flip the senate?
Seems a bit sloppy to me....

Lordy, there are tapes.

The Washington Post obtained a recording of the conversation in which Trump alternately berated Raffensperger, tried to flatter him, begged him to act and threatened him with vague criminal consequences if the secretary of state refused to pursue his false claims, at one point warning that Raffensperger was taking “a big risk.”
Throughout the call, Raffensperger and his office’s general counsel rejected Trump’s assertions, explaining that the president is relying on debunked conspiracy theories and that President-elect Joe Biden’s 11,779-vote victory in Georgia was fair and accurate.
Extortion and election interference. Throw them on the post Jan 20 criming pile.
