I need an excuse to get a new cook top in my kitchen. Tired of cooking on electric, we want to convert to a gas range.

Do any of you know how to short out a burner on a electric cook top?

Look beyond the delicious beer, that is what it looks like.

Remove heating element, remove splash shield, look inside for wire, and snip it. Shorting it would be one smokey affair. That thing is meant for heavy loads and won't go w/o a fight.

The heater element arc welded itself to the bottom of the stove one day in our first house. Made for an exciting evening.

As long as there's a breaker "behind" that shorted burner, not much will happen after the arc shot...
