A Wellington business owner who told his workers to get on their bikes was inspired by the hit environmental documentary An Inconvenient Truth.

David Pettengell has started offering incentives to his staff to do their bit to combat global warming and hopes other employers will follow suit.

Pretty cool I recon.

My employeer. Gives a daily bonus to all who ride their bike in. Pretty sweet.

I don't get anything for riding my bike to work and my building has mandatory valet car parking due to lack of parking spots...

At least they let me park my own bike it in the hallway

Last month was "bike to work month" in Portland. The week before that, the building owner said we were no longer allowed to park our bikes in the office. There is a bike locker across the street, but I have heard of two bikes being stolen from there and it's not insured.

I haven't ridden since. I miss riding, but I'm not risking my bike for it.

I'm more worried about being clocked by some idiot on their cellphone/or whatever distraction rather than getting my bike stolen. I have to cross a very narrow 2 lane bridge

That's very cool!!! My commute is SO long and I always have a bunch of instruments to carry so I am not currently able to commute
