Enduro Fork Seals.. what's the verdict??

i am in the market for some new oil seals on my '00 monster t. i noticed there is another manufacturer other than marz to make some seals. does anybody have any experience with the seals from Enduro? they are tons cheaper, but am i comprimising anything by going this route instead of the factory ones from marz?

no I'm still using the OE Rock Shox ones - but let me know how the Enduro ones are - I was thinking of giving them a try just for fun. Wish they came in grey instead of blue tho - like the Marz ones. ;)

I've had them on my '03 psylo for half a year now - hasnt leaked yet. They take a longgggg time to break in (my fork anyway), and they are a very tight fit. Survived through a season of dhing, xcing, places like fountainhead in MD, and snowshoe in WV. So I guess they are pretty good.

Another friend with a '01 boxxer, has been having a similar experience as mine.

on the other hand, a friend of mine on a '02 super t, hasn't had same experience as me. His started leaking after 2 months. So my guess is they work well for some forks, and not to well for others. IE good tolerances for RS, and not so good for Marzocchi.

hope that helps

Ah ok, i have been using stock ones until this weekend. The ORIGINAL stock ones. Impressive. I was going to go get some plain old seals at the hydraulic place as I usually do for everyone else when i rebuild their forks, but decided last minute to call up enduro and give them a shot.

They DO come in a graphite impregnated gray as of now I understand..

you can speed up the breakin period of seals by using a VERY soft cloth type polishing wheel on a dremel.

i expect a long term report in the year 2008.....

after having my seals last for almost 4 years now, somehow i dont feel the need to experiment with something different to save a few bucks.

i sort of think the same thing, i've had the seals since the forks was new. and they have held up until now, and that was only because a new nick caused it to leak, before i could remove the burr....
i was just looking for some input on their (enduro seals) quality or lack of....

The seals went in easily but the wipers were a bitch.
I had to put them in the freezer for awhile then they went in, but were still tight.

I talked to Chris at Enduro and he said they were fixing that problem.

you should mention that to him if you order any.

The seals and wipers seem to be good quality overall.

As I said, I just put them in .... will have to see how they last.

Ah that is quite possible. I just remembered him mentioning gray impregnanted seals now available, and saw somethign about it on their website too.

I bought a set for my O2 super t, and found them to be a tough install. They also generated a bit more stiction than did the stock zocchi ones. After running them through some mud at ETSU and Snowshoe, they bit the dust in a few months. Good customer support from Enduro, but i think their seals still need some work.

Exact same exp. as Nately up there -- I ran 'em in a Z.1 Dual -- really tough to install, lots of stiction for a long time, lasted only about 3-4 months before they blew.

Not worth it. If you had a Boxxer they might be, but Marz. seals are really top of the heap.

Well the seals are here courtesy Chris at Real world Cycling in AZ.

They are 6.7mm by 32 by 42. They seem MUCH stiffer then the stock seals that came out (this goes double for the dust wiper). Hopefully they will last as long as my stock oil seals did (about 2 years). I may try polishing the seals up to reduce stiction. i ABSOLUTELY HATE any sort of stiction, so this will be a battle if they are as sticky as everyone says.

I just put in enduro seals for my 99 Monster T at the end of July. What do you guys mean by break-in period, when do you know that they've broken in? That was the first time I've ever taken a fork apart, so I don't know what to say. My Monster was rebuilt when I bought it used, and one side started leaking within a year.

They are definitely hard to put in. I thought it was just because I didn't have the proper tools to do it, but since there are other complaints, I guess it's not as easy as I thought. They seem to be holding up so far, I'm nearin 2 months of riding on them.

i have them for my '02 super t. and i've had them for about a month...maybe?

they seem to be sticking some but from what i hear, that's just the long break in period. but there's something else that i'm woried about. even right after i rebuilt the fork, it seemed to still be oozing some oil (or at least i think that it's oil). i'm just praying that it's only some water/mud that keeps getting on the legs.

and yes, i have been wiping it down every time i see that something wet is on the stanchions. but it can't seem to stop raining around here, so my hopes are high that it's not oil...

I just put some Enduro's in my Psylo. In my opinion, they look and feel much sturdier than the stock seals that came out, which were alledgedly replaced about a year ago (I just got the fork this spring). They only took me a couple rides to loosen up (including one rip down Black Mtn. in Pisgah) and all's well so far, but it's a little early for a true review. I got them on the advice of the Angry Asian (www.angryasian.com), a local suspension guru. I will say, though, my previous two forks were both Marzocchis and I only had to replace one set of seals in something like 6 years of riding, so I would agree that Marzocchi seals are pretty damn reliable.

i've done kitsuma once or twice and a few other small trail rides, and countless hours on the trails near my house (not smooth XC trails) and my fork still feels really sticky...and i checked a little while ago and i'm pretty sure that it's oil that's coming out... :dead:

i don't really wanna rebuild my fork again so maybe i'll figure out how much is leaking out per week and just put that little bit back in every week or so :eviltongu

actually mine leaked/weeped a small amount of oil pretty much the whole time I owned 'em.

Come to think of it, they were total trash. They weeped the whole time, and by the time they blew outright, they hadn't yet broken in enough; still felt sticky.

When you guys say stiction... I've noticed my monster doesn't bob up and down anymore when cranking hard. I thought that was because I didn't set it up properly. Is this somethin that you guys were experiencing as well? I never got arm pump for a while, used to be in the legs. Now it's the opposite after I rebuilt the fork
