Couple of years ago a group of friends from Europe organized a "trans alp" ride from southern Germany to northern Italy. The trip was epic, each day a new town, new restaurants, it was awesome. Now they want to come to the US for a US tour...I have no idea even where to start organizing this kind of trip. Basically, I am looking for ideas for an extended, 5+ day bike tour in the US, all or mostly off-road, any ideas would be hugely appreciated.
