Escaping the heat AND humidity part II.
We went to Big Bear where the higher elevation means, blue skies, thin air and virtually no humidity.
Ahhh...what a welcoming sight.
No downhill bikes -no problem!
There is a lot of riding around
It rained the night before so the dirt was deliciously tacky -at least for the first few hours.
Orven was bummed that he could not build up his new FS bike,
because most of the smooth singletracks were rocky due to runoff and erosion.
I on the otherhand was on a fully and laughing at him. :devil:
A pack of German, or whatever european origin they were. Definitely not french.
When you are surrounded and ride with a bunch of downhillers,
you learn how to corner well automatically.
Hmmm, more singletrack.
Here kitty...
Mountain lion dirt paw?? Definitely not a dog, especially not in the area we were in.
Sunday:
Much sunnier day. Warmer but nonetheless perfect weather.
Google this:
"Fall line to Anders, to CB. Or to 2N10 to darkside? Or Rabie-nacious special; 2N10 west, to Westridge to Sonic and then to Pistol." good ol heydays.

Onboard shot on a climb back to 2N10 west.
The freedom XC/trail bikes provide is phenomenal.
You can backtrack, explore, and go the distance without dying
like say, if we were on DH/burlier bikes.
We are falling in love with "mountainbiking" all over again.
Except for long climbs... j/k

(ie: backtracking part in the previous post)
IE01 is hella fun.
That's all the pics we took on IE01 trail.
The long singletrack was so fun to ride.
Orven found this and it got attached to his soon-to-be retired HT.
Actually, that was my Hardrock that someone sold me in the wrong size.
Post-lunch pic overlooking the forming of a thunderstorm behind us.
Then onto a few more runs.
Surprisingly, some full-on DH bikes got loaded on the chair.
Nonetheless, if you're not highly dependent on DHing, Big Bear is not at all a loss.

Im in Maryland and planned to do some riding but the heat has been too much to have any real fun...
