K, now I understand. It's true that Europeans have treated them like **** while in moslem countries they have lived good lives (as a minority of course). But the real **** didn't hit the fan until 1933, and lasted to 1945, that is 12 years of hell. For Palestinians it started in 1948 and realy hit them from 1967 onwards. Now they're paying for all the **** that the Europeans gave the Jews too.Actually I was only speaking to the "propaganda value" of loss of life. European Jews were persecuted for many years before being sent to concentration camps and watching their friends and families die during WWII.
Ohh definately, no people is homogenous to 100%. Personal responsibility exists but it's still the state that holds by far the most. They should feel empathy for the palestinians, and in fact many do. Just remember the people and the state sometimes disagree widely.
Good thing your pointing that out, not everybody thinks of that.
Israel is a good example to learn what fear can do to us, make us easily governed and manipulated by greater interests. Unfortunately, Israelis aren't alowed to go to Palestine to see and meet people so they can find out for them selves, Palestinians aren't alowed to Israel (except those from East Jerusalem).Unfortunately the state of Israel's empathy for other people being treated badly has been overwhelmed by fear.
Well, they are illegal in some ways, some not. They are zionists but more importantly is that when moslems call them that they are distinguishing Jews from the zioinists. Clear thinking moslems don't hate Jews but can be against the state of Israel. Most of their neighbors refuse to acknowledge their existance and call them "the illegal zionist regieme" instead of a country. The president of Iran is calling for wiping them off the map, and also developing nuclear power and possibly the atomic bomb. They see themselves as under siege, and respond based on their perceptions.
A lot of people has been talking about wiping one another. Here, we got to diferentiate between talk and action. Some are actualy doing some wiping right now. Iran has got a right as a soverign nation to do what they want, Israel to. Israel already did it and not a peep was heard, same went for Pakistan and India.
The non-proliferation treaty also says that the "old" nukulur nations have to help other nations create safe nuclear energy aswell as to gradualy disarm. Non of these things are done.
Sudan is tragic, but I understand them to. The west have shown a dual face in everything for as long as everybody can remember. White man is a conspiratoric dishonest dump some times. The AU should be given every economic mean and hard ware they need to solve this them selves. As for the Sudan, I'm appalled. There is very little disagreement on how bad the situation is. I'm appalled by the lack of action. If there was ever a clear reason for the use of military force to protect human life, this is it.
