Vail is nice. I stayed up there once, and then I was up there three or four more times for the day on field trips with a friends dogs. Food/hotel, I don't remember the the cost, but I remember gas being expensive up there.
Vail is my 1st choice, but the jamaica trip is all set/booked, all I need to do is say I'm in. I'd be real bummed to pass on it and then have the Vail trip fall apart.

My advice? If you're going to Jamaica, try to get off the beaten path a bit. The short amount of time I spent in MoBay was similar to a weekend at the Jersey Shore during a volunteer firefighter convention, ie. a lot of drunk, obnoxious Americans. Very touristy too. You couldn't turn around with out a street peddlar trying to push something on you.
