You know how a girl will let you down constantly, but you forgive her because she's sexy?

I think this is the bicycle equivalent

Tell any Aussie that that Russell Crowe the dirty New Zealander is one of ours and yeah you'll probably get punched. Look up 30 Odd Foot of Grunt on youtube to check out his awesome music, the South Park guys sang better.

Sorry but then you are stupid. Kevin did not pack his bags and ran leaving clients with no frames. It takes long but from what it seems he tries to make it right.
As Jan did too. When he first came back into the picture in 2008, he took care of anyone who came forward with a past problem with him. He made good and has been building bikes ever since.

I have to admit, though I would be more likely to trust an aids infested Thai hooker with my condomless penis than Evil Bikes with my money, that bike is fraptastic.

I reminds me so much of a circa 05' Spesh Enduro, clean flowing lines, nice low tt, slack and long with no pregnant down tube, now if Santacruz could just make one like this with a Pinion Gear Box I'd faint.

That's probably not his best work, I found a compilation of his better efforts:

In all seriousness I really hope evil is planning to release an even smaller ride ala bandit/stumpy evo, i will throw my money at that bike.

Just curious, what else are you looking for? If I remember correctly, the uprising geometry was very similiar to a stumpy evo (evil weigh more?) and doesn't it have 150mm travel like the evo?

HA! I just dug through the thread and found this! Not sure of Stumpy evo weight, but between the two settings, looks like this straddles the stumpy geometry:

Chainstay Length

420mm (16.5")

Bottom Bracket Height - Low Setting

338mm (13.3")

Seat Tube Angle (Effective) - Low Setting

74.5°

Head Tube Angle - Low Setting

67°

the uprising not doing it for you?
No, I am in love with that bike its incredible looking. My local rides just dont really require that much travel, and are more suited towards a 130mm 67 HA bike. I am just putting my wishlist out there, something a bit lighter that firmly plants the bike in the 'trail' category.

If I was in a more 'enduro' area, i would preparing myself for an uprising purchase.

:edit: after reading the post above I might have been wrong on some of my facts.

This. There are too few agressive geo trailbikes with 130-140mm travel.

agreed - my trance x with 150mm revelation and -1* works headset is about the most fun trail bike i've owned.

a 5-5.5" travel, 66-67* HA, 13-13.5" BB, ~6lb frame w/shock is awesome.

giants amazing cs?

I can't tell if you're saying its bad or good.

For what its worth, mine hasn't needed any cs, which is always a good thing.

Giant is ok cs when necessary, as long as you're willing to wait through them sending the wrong thing 6-7 times before they finally send the right part. I guess their method is trial and error of sending random parts until something works. I never have to fight for anything though, I think its just run by bumbling idiots.

Out here it's bad. A friend works for them so maybe I'd get some preferential treatment (probably not after complaining about it here ;) ) but I have to say the amount of negative stuff I hear about them is big.

also, uprising:
Evil Bikes : ‎150mm fork gets you 66.5 HA/13" BB/ SA 71.76 deg low and 67.5 / 13.35" BB/ SA 72.80 deg High.

Evil Bikes:
A little All Mtn build on the prototype 150mm Uprising! 65 deg HA / 13.25 BB in the low position! Filip Polc just won the Spanish Open Enduro on her this weekend!
