Which is why Giant/Cervelo/ and Specialized paint almost every Carbon bike they make. They are not exactly Colnago or Alchemy when it comes to building carbon bikes.Sounds about right for a bike company run by artists.

Waiting for 2 years on warranty, damn son!My warranty Undead arrived today. Been waiting since June 2010, so I think I was pretty high on the list. It sure does look awesome, but keep your eyes open in the classified sections, because it may well be going up for sale.
evil is shipping the paint in a couple weeks, from what i hear.Which is why Giant/Cervelo/ and Specialized paint almost every Carbon bike they make. They are not exactly Colnago or Alchemy when it comes to building carbon bikes.
the two week joke will never get old with this bikeevil is shipping the paint in a couple weeks, from what i hear.

F*ck thinking about paint in two weeks, get ready for another 2 years, the 2 week joke is in fact obsolete now, we know 2 years is the standard lead time from these guys.evil is shipping the paint in a couple weeks, from what i hear.
Giant carbon bikes are the best on the planet. So good.Which is why Giant/Cervelo/ and Specialized paint almost every Carbon bike they make. They are not exactly Colnago or Alchemy when it comes to building carbon bikes.
how so?Giant carbon bikes are the best on the planet. So good.
Well funny you should say that Giant isn't as good as colnago etc...Which is why Giant/Cervelo/ and Specialized paint almost every Carbon bike they make. They are not exactly Colnago or Alchemy when it comes to building carbon bikes.
Not all of them. But they paint the bikes to cover the blems PERIOD. It's not really a bad thing it's just what it is.Well funny you should say that Giant isn't as good as colnago etc...
Giant makes Colnago bikes there chief.
i think nate might have an inside line on what giant doesNot all of them
Oh how I love your "industry" data.to bad giant makes 97% of all carbon bikes out there, and aluminiums.
Well they are both right some Colnagos are made in asia and some like the C59 are still made in Italy.i think nate might have an inside line on what giant does
ps ianjenn,
colnagos are made by giant
pss I was offered a job to work for a giant store.
Its not lie giant started as a OEM maker, then started their own line.
But they seriously make more then 75%
Not saying the Campy cranks are bad, but looks don't mean much in terms of CFThe stuff used in Campy cranks looks 100x better than say the SRAM carbon cranks.
I guess I will just have to mock you untill you get it right.ps ianjenn,

I assume you are being sarcastic? If not I have seen what I consider dodgy practice in Giant frames when I have repaired / sectioned them. Leaving bags in frames and Voids and the likes. However they are built to a price and they work fine from what I know.Giant carbon bikes are the best on the planet. So good.
I think most of your post is a little off the money. The main difference between the Uni and the fibres in a weave are not straight, so when they are subjected to tension they want to straighten. Not good, you could get de-lamination as the fibres try to straighten out. Stiffness is mainly dictated by the quality of fibre. High modulus for example is stiffer with a Elongation % of 0.7/0.8, however it is not necessarily stronger with a tensile strength of 320/350ksi, Ultra high modulus (usually made from PEAK) is very brittle, with a Elongation % of 0.3/0.4 and is rarely used, and it isn't strong either 250/300ksi.The top 4 Colnago's are still made in Italy. It has more to do with the type of Carbon being used. The stuff Cervelo, Giant, Specialized use is different than say Colnago "HIGH END", Mcipollini, and some others. Not sure of the exact differences. The stuff used in Campy cranks looks 100x better than say the SRAM carbon cranks.
So it comes down to unidirectional vs weaves. The UNI allows more stiffness and lighter weight where a Weave allows more overall strength in theory. "I THINK?"
The weave looking carbon makes a prettier frame. It may be more expensive to do this way not sure. But few companies do it like this anymore. So if the Undead had color shifts that is normal. Anyway I shoot road bikes all day long in the studio I think I would take an Independent Fabrication or Alchemy if given a choice. But would rather ride a MTB hardtail anyday!!!!
swimming caps are for pussiesYou are absolutely right,There is neither any necessity to show the power of words rather to fluctuate it.
He's a bike job kid, he has no idea about the actual bike industry, just drop it.I guess I will just have to mock you untill you get it right.
You have quite a few other mfgs on Tw. than Giant and Merida. They are the biggest but you really need get into any business that's not doing crosswords in a bike shop to realize how ridiculous that number is.
basically every carbon everything these days is UD unidirectional carbon tape as the structural member (what sram cranks, enve rims, etc look like, and why giant, et al paint their bikes). colnago frames with clear, and campy cranks, for example add a cosmetic twill carbon wrap that confirms nicely around all the bends and kinks at junctures and look nice. but it adds weight for no performance. only aesthetic finished look. The top 4 Colnago's are still made in Italy. Too bad TIME doesn't make anything we care about in carbon...Time have their own weaves:
Among all the bicycle manufacturers, TIME is the only one to use and totally master RTM technology; TIME enters carbon manufacturing one step before its competitor, by masterizing carbon fabric, which allows the company to totally optimized composite. Other frame manufacturers buy flat sheets of pre-impregnated carbon fabric, which have severe limitations when used to create complicated shapes such as with bicycle frames. TIME weaves its own custom tubular carbon layers in its RTM factory in France. This gives TIME’s engineers total control of the technical characteristics of each carbon layer, as well as total freedom of shape of the frame component parts. BMC weaves their own carbon on their top end frames (this started happening within the last two years). That's the only other company I know of that does.Time have their own weaves:
