This waiting for warranty is getting even more frustrating now that there are more pictures of it. Although I would rather them make it to last than release it early.

I like all the new features. Hopefully I get to ride one this year.

who does the carbon frames for evil? I do not think that a small company like Evil can build the same quality carbon bikes like the big guns.

I Hope that Evil can gain a little bit of reputation back with the new bike.

god damnt, why didnt the Revolt have linkage like that?

and what exactly is a "double shear" about it?
In my eyes it's just a buzzword since lots of bikes utilize "double shear" pivot layouts.

The new frame looks nice. I'm sure it'll be fine compared to the aluminum bikes.

The PB article says Hodaka...

I assume its these guys. http://www.hodaka.com.tw/cp_profile.html

So does that mean my V10C isn't good quality? It's made in China.

China and Taiwan are very different!
Taiwan for quality aluminium alloy frame production

China for quality carbon fibre / composite frame production

Vietnam, Malaysia and Cambodia
for lower quality aluminium alloy frame production (i.e. cheapos), or kids bikes, etc.

it really depends on the production facility itself and how much $$ you are prepared to pay for production units and quality control, than the country of origin itself

but the above is generally, correct ;)

Carbon is usually done in China because of the lower labor costs compared to Taiwan. Carbon stuff is very labor intensive compared to alloy.

Taiwan is usually a little more advanced technology and quality wise (and more expensive). Speaking very generally however.

...peronally I prefer Taiwanese carbon for the Chiayi Sauce, but Chinese carbon prepared with jiaozi and Duck Sauce is not without it charms...

sweet, so theyll fail in two places now instead of one?
I'm not sure if you are joking or not.
But in case you aren't, in single shear all the force is directed through a single section of the bolt, and because it is not symmetrical, there will be also bending moment stressign the bolt.
In double shear, the same force is spread along two sections of the bolt, thus making the shear stress only 50% of the single shear case. And the symmetrical configuration eliminates the bending moment.

The country of origin for any product is virtually irrelevant. Tight specifications and holding suppliers to those specifications will result in a quality product.

If you get crappy components on the shipping dock that don't meet spec, the supplier shouldn't get paid until it's fixed. Any manufacturer who ends up selling crappy <whatever> has only themselves to blame...

out of curiosity, why did brook not race this bike? The only answer I can think of is that he's used to the revolt. Now that the bike compresses only one way, does it really make that much difference? Or did they have some problems with the prototype that he had to go back to he's old bike?
