normally, craig specs that size shock with a 1/2" spacer between the valve assembly, and the seal head.
removing this spacer gets you a 9" / 3" shock, and putting a 1/4" spacer in there gets you the required 8,75" / 2,75" shock.
since you would want a new valving anyway, be sure to ask craig about the shim stack and the new 1/4" spacer, with that you can go to a moto shop and have them revalve and resize it to the new size, it doest represent a bigger mechanical challenge than a regular oil change btw.
