Will do...Forgot it ended last night, definitely could've given you chitlens a run for your moneys if I'd remembered. :D

I used the '00 Camaro, btw (22k base price, 13k supercharger and you're making 520hp)...Tried the R32 and just couldn't stand the way it drove. AWD FTL.

I was also having good luck with the RX-8, but couldn't dial it enough in time to really use it.

I had a better time but I fell asleep last night after a big steak and potato. It wouldn't have changed my standing anyhow.

I just have to win the last couple of races I guess.


How about for the final we use the Daimler carriage on nurburgring?:disgust1:

it actually can't make it up the hills on the 'ring iirc. you have to use a "swinging method" to drive backwards and forwards in arcs to climb a few of them.

i think the one for next week might have to be a really, really cheap car challenge...

ok, here's the first line in the sand for the GT-R challenge:

Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II N1 (R34) '00
276 bhp, no oil change, no power mods, as per the rules (note that it shows up on some screens as 327-333 hp - this is ok and just a glitch in the GT4 matrix, as it's a 276 hp car with no mods)
all other goodies maxed out, R5 tires
Grand Valley normal (not the shorter East course)

1'54.955

i thought that was a pretty dang good lap, too. with stock power the skylines in the game are pretty easy to drive, and it's a rewarding course. all of the linked turns are fun, and fast times come naturally if you don't early apex -- that'll kill ya.

Why not change the oil? It's not in the rules, not technically a power mod.

I'm at 1.56.363. I keep messing with the suspension, mostly camber and toe (-1 f&r to 1f&r 2.3/4 1.2/3)
I play with the fianl gear ratio too. I always seem to be right at 137 at the start line though. Can't seem to find the 1.5 seconds yet.

I was in the 89. It weighs 1430 vs. the 1570 of the 00., but the gear ratio is different. Hmmmm...

practice makes perfect. or at least better.

i'm done with this one. i did an oil change, but the car was otherwise legal -- no power mods. (i also tried the '70 GT-R for kicks, optioned out [illegally] to 275 hp, and it was slower.)

you're using nitrous, right? i'm just quick on this track... look back to the F1 car challenge a few series ago for confirmation. :monkeydance:
