We went to Suzie's family Christmas party today (long day, 3 hours of driving each way on a day trip). They do a yankee gift swap as part of the party.

For those not familiar this kind of gift giving, this involves buying a gift for no one in particular. At this party, all we do is separate by gender. You then draw numbers and then choose gifts in numerical order. You may "steal" someone else's gift who then may steal from someone else or take an unselected gift. When you make it through all numbers, the person with #1 can then chose to swap with any person and the swapping is over. Then everyone opens their gift.

I heard a magical clank in today's swap and instantly new which gift I was going to try to get. Having #9 of 10, I was in good shape and sure enough, ended up with a twelver of this...



Yes, it is a great holiday season.
