Pikeys are worse than trailer trash. A Chav (or 'Townie' as I'd probably have called them) is probably more the equivalent of trailer trash.

Pikeys are the lowest form of life - lower even than lighter fluid addicted derelicts, who at least have the class to realise they are scum. Pikeys will steal anything that isn't chained down. I worked at an outdoor leisure store in West London when I was at Uni, and Pikeys once stole these plastic water containers we were throwing out - from the bin. Pikeys can't even afford mobile phones.

Pretty much. Although in the UK there is now a generation (actually probably three by now - they breed quite fast) of mature Chavs who haven't 'grown up' if you know what I mean..
