i've seen some guys here riding what appears to be thick aluminum spoke wheels. didn't get a close look but they look like about 12 -14 spokes maybe 3/16" diameter (?). everything else looks pretty standard. these any good? durable? low maintenance?

12-14 doesn't seem possible. The least amount of spokes I've ever seen where 18 and they were on a race only TT front wheel.

industry nine? 28 spoke, i think...could be wrong. super fast engagement, rim choice, color anodizing...yeah, they're sweet, and $900 of awesome. Made in the US too. Durable yes, low maintenance, hit or miss....

Better than standard wheels? Start the debatewagon.

i just got a quick look, so i could be (real) wrong on the number. but if they are not a clear winner in the low maintenance dept., i'll pass.

They were at Sea Otter w/a DH wheel set and they were letting people race on them. If you landed on the podium you got to keep them. Bryn Atkinson is racing on the DH version of these this year.
