Long, solo rides that include a lot of climbing, and seeing absolutely no one else while on the ride.

Also enjoy descending at race pace through sketchy corners, and catching that perfect drift and then popping out of a corner in a bunny hop, manual or power wheelie.

Rides that make you think about what you don't want to think about.

Tight twisty single track - like westy said "tires in the trees on one side, shoulders in the bushes on the other."

Two wheel drifts.

A good crash. The silly kind where you get right up, laugh it off, then try it again and nail it.

The 2 things I enjoy most...
- getting away from everything (work, kids, house, etc.)
- pushing hard and not getting tired (i.e. being in "the groove")

Some other things that I enjoy most every ride out...
- how great my Yeti rides
- making a tough climb
- that feeling that I was just about to cross "the line" on a fast descent
- that heavy/dead feeling I get in my legs on the drive home after a good ride
- seeing wildlife that are pretty much unphased by me being there
- trying new lines, riding a trail "backwards"

Definitely agree with you there. The zone is the best/worst thing ever. Very dangerous but amazingly fun.

- being away from all the damn people
- feeling suspension work beneath me
- light snowfall and perfect silence
- watching my dog run 20 yards ahead of me
- taking my riding shoes off

all of the above, and the post ride feeling you get in your legs while putting down a cold one:

I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow
I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (makes him feel mellow)
Whiskey’s too rough, champagne costs too much, vodka puts my mouth in gear
This little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact I like beer
(he likes beer)

My wife often frowns when we’re out on the town
And I’m wearing a suit and a tie
She’s sipping vermouth and she thinks I’m uncouth
When I yell as the waiter goes by

(chorus)

Last night I dreamed that I passed from the scene
And I went to a place so sublime
Aw, the water was clear and tasted like beer
Then they turned it all into wine (awww)

I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow
I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (makes him feel mellow)
Whiskey’s too rough, champagne costs too much, and vodka puts my mouth in gear
Aw, this little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact I love beer
(yes, he likes beer)
I think a more suitable song for these wise asses around here is "Faster Horses" by Tom T.

Ok i really didn't have time this morning, so my favorite thing is "having fun"......

The anticipation, the challenge of assembling a ride. Coordinating and making it happen.
The knowledge of carefully constructing a bike that will serve your needs within the ride.
Sharing the ride, the comraderie of the pack, to show and be shown, and the preparedness and experience to anticipate or deal with problems.
Attitude of finding out what sort of feel the ride deserves and to push that within or through yourself or feel the tempo of the group.
Balance within and being strong physically, to rush the limits, or to flow smoothly, or to struggle with composure.
To obtain a higher spiritual contact with creation.
To collect great memories, and to share and give back so others can enjoy the gift of mt. biking.

This is what helps give me an attitude where i can achieve great joy, this is what i do it for. This is my favorite thing, more simply put, this is the perception i hold that enables it to be fun with consistency.

Shut up and ride...
A sweet ride with friends down a mountian who are as happy at you getting large as they are.

No crap, not attitude, no insults, fun laughter, mud, body armor and air.

Being utterly lost in new terrain.
Stopping and listening.
Getting up after falling hard.
Seeing turkey tracks in the snow.
Finally mastering a move I have been struggling with for years.
Spotting a coyote.
Smelling a fox.
When the ride falls into rythym and grace.
Riding with someone who's way ahead of my skill level.

feeling the back tire catch in the groove of a berm after a drift, wipping the bike around, pumping berms, rocks, roots, rollers, felling some G's, feeling no G's, jumps so smooth that you can't tell you've landed, the last run of the day, ect, ect...

That, and also getting away from everything else.

I also really like extreme weather when I ride. Rain, snow, ect.

crashing at a trail near you...
hear the crazy ass yipe that my dog makes that first few minutes we're on the trail

every time he hits the trail you'd think he'd never seen one before he's so happy

it jazzes me up and gets me even more psyched to have a good ride

it doesn't matter if its hot or cold, wet or dry, there isn't a time he does NOT want to ride

couldn't ask for a better riding bud

oh and yeah....everything else thats already been said

Yep! Same feeling I get in the starting gate before a DH race run.

"Rider....you have 5 seconds..."

No matter how many races I do, it's still the same. :)
