Well after a little bent chain incident at snowmass with shimano being complete dick's I decided to get a sram chain. I bought it and in the process of practice and yanking it out of my messed up mrp i managed to bend it. So I took it to the Sram tent for some links and the mechanic was super cool and started to work on it and then he just said "F this" and ran back into the truck and hooked it up with a pc-69 chain for shizzle. That is what I call service and after getting back I vowed to end the life of the shimano cassette on my bike and threw a sram one on. No Ive got full Sram drivetrain and Im loving it. No more ****mano for my bike!

anyone else have good thing so say about Sram?

Can't say I've ever had any issues with Shimano stuff tbh. IMHO it's a lot like Microsoft, people bash on them just because they're the biggest - it's not "cool" to actually like their stuff. Sure windows has problems, but it works fine for me, does what I want and does it pretty well most of the time. Just like my shimano gears.

I will agree though, that shimano chains suck ass as much as FrontPage :D

I really like the ergonomics of the shifter, and the really high spring tension their derailleurs have. The pricise CLICK of each shift feels brilliant, much better than the mushy vague feel Shimano has.

Both companies have their merits, but for ****ing feel, SRAM all the way.
And let's not mention crapidrise.

High end Sram & Shimano are both nice, I still think one of the main reason prople jumped ship was Shimanos Rapid Rise design. I still like the older XTR 952 derailleur and shifter combo. Never had a problem with them or the Dura Ace chain, however I did switch to a Sram PC-99 because I do like the master link:thumb:
