I've been searching far and wide for the best dishing tool....I have one at work that has a shaft that can easily slide down to contact the hub but I've been looking all over and can't find

unless you have any other suggestions i would greatly appreciate that you would help me find one

thanks

The cheap Park one is cool (black). The one you're describing sounds like the VAR one. can't find any images of it, or mention of it...didn't look too much, though.

The old Campy one is really nice.

The blue Park one (WAG-4) gets the job done. Since I don't know anyone willing to part with the old Campy tool (and probably not being able to afford it), I own the WAG-4. Unfortunately, I've never used the WAG-3 (the folding black one), so I can't compare the two.

if your truing stand is set up properly you don't need a dishing gauge. if you own a park ts2 it can be set up to be perfectly centered so the indicator arm will tell you which side is off of center.
