I've found several things while out riding on the street or trail including many tools, a giant bad ass Maglight flashlight, a weird little pouch filled with random CDs, but since I commute through a very wealthy area in Phoenix, I've expected to find an aluminum briefcase filled with cash, but it has not yet happened.

However, I did come up on some Rayban RB3239 sunglasses today. Awesome new shades!

Once when I was street riding I found a cell phone on the side of the road. I picked it up and starting checking it out, scrolling through the pictures. Well! I found mostly pictures of gang bangers trying to look tough, one guy holding a gun, generally thugish dickhead stuff. BUT ... I also saw several pics of a lovely hispanic girl providing oral encouragement to whoever was holding the phone at the time. (!!!)

I went through the numbers and found "home" and called. I talked to a man who said the phone must belong to his son. I told him where I found the phone which was only a couple block from where the son was working at the time. I rode over and tracked the guy down and showed him what I'd found. He was super grateful so the detour was worth it. The story was he was put a bunch of stuff on the truck of his car in the morning and forgot about it before driving off.

During college a friend of mine literally found a bag full of money, about $15000. Seems a security guard dropped it while filling an ATM machine with cash. He reported it to the cops and to the bank immediately. At the time I don't know what I would have done. I was broke and was literally using duct tape to hold my shoes together. These days I wouldn't question returning it.

During college a friend of mine literally found a bag full of money, about $15000. Seems a security guard dropped it while filling an ATM machine with cash. He reported it to the cops and to the bank immediately. At the time I don't know what I would have done. I was broke and was literally using duct tape to hold my shoes together. These days I wouldn't question returning it.

We found somebody's porn collection while cleaning up trash around some of our trail heads. It was all kind of strange stuff like huge butts, giant tits, etc. We went around the rest of the joking as to who was going to dig it out of the trash and take it home. Not sure if anybody did...

As a sort of strange coincidence (or maybe not?) some of the trail names at that spot include homo, pantylines, and tosser.:biggrin:

Rope, duct tape and panties just off the trail. It didn't quite register what exactly I just saw when I rode past it. When I came back through so I could pinpoint the location and call the police the stuff was gone.

over 3 yrs of commuting, i found about 70 individual work gloves & a dozen pairs. i've kept about half of them just in case i have to do a job & want to get some laborer blamed.

oddly, i've only found one riding glove: a ladies' mountain hardware. i guess it was a cold ride home for MMike.

Riding in Waikoloa in March, found the wallet of a good looking Hilo girl. Took it to the Hilo PD the next day.

one of the funnier CD's I found was these Kids who recorded there own versions of Led Zeppelin songs, sounds like they did it in there basement , some really good echos..

Tools, old nasty porn, meth labs and a bike. Found an older (96-ish) DBR on the side of the road one day in Spokane. Rode home holding it with one hand, must have looked pretty weird, like I lost my riding partner. It had been beat down pretty badly, but the frame was straight (My buddy turned it into a SS) and I pulled some parts off it.

Back in Kansas City, riding the blue ridge creek parkway system trails (scary area, then) I found a case of beer and a blanket left out from someone's idea of a romantic evening. Lot's of homeless folks' clothes.

Here in Tucson... only thing I've found so far was a pair of riding sunglasses and some Park tire levers.
