finally ran the fingerprint software on my Dell xps after a coworker told me he liked the convenience of it on his. Now there is a logon profile problem and it won't log in with either it or my normal password. Any suggestion in how to get it back to the way it was?

This is a standard error when you mushroom stamp the fingerprint reader. Try using your finger next time.

Actually, the reader had nothing to do with it. After Vista was reinstalled, I was supposed to let it get through at least Service Pack 2 updates before reinstalling my virus software. I loaded the software before thinking of stuff like Service Packs because I figured it was vulnerable.

All is well...except of course I'm still on Vista.
